Occupancy in Section 202 housing is open to any very low-income household comprised of at least one person who is at least 62 years old at the time of initial occupancy.

All apartments are one bedroom and include:

    Individual thermostat controls
    Window Coverings (blinds or curtain rods)

    Some units are fully accessible
Beckley House, a 24 unit elderly housing facility, and the new Beckley House Expansion, offering an additional 10 units, is located in Canaan, CT. Built by Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (a non-profit organization) Beckley House is tucked into the mountainside at 85 South Canaan Road (Route 7) in scenic, rural Litchfield County and is managed by Elderly Housing Management, Inc. (another non-profit organization). Beckley House sits among other facilities on the Geer Campus including an Adult Day Center, Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation, an assisted living facility and the newest branch of the regional YMCA. There is a restaurant on campus, as well.

This apartment accepts HUD subsidies. For HUD subsidized apartments, if you qualify for low income housing and they have available apartments, rent is based on 30% of your Adjusted Gross Income. Call for details.
