City of Phoenix Housing Department Apartment Details

The City of Phoenix Housing Department offers safe and affordable housing to low income residents that qualify. Assistance is provided through the management of Low Rent Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. The Department currently owns, operates and maintains  about 3,500 public housing apartments  and manages over 5,200 housing choice vouchers. The eligibility requirements for these programs is set by HUD. There may be a waiting list for assistance and rentals. If you are in need of housing assistance and live in the area please contact the Department directly for more information about eligibility requirements, availability of assistance and rentals and application procedures.

Most low income apartments have waiting lists. Some of these lists can take years until you can be called for openings. The key is to try to get on as many waiting lists as possible.
